Celebrating 20 years of professional bra fitting training
The Bra Fitting Course was established in 2006 in response to lingerie retailer demand for a reliable and commercial insight into correct bra fitting training. Since launching in 2006, word spread within the lingerie industry and the bra fitting training courses have been regularly attended ever since. Today in 2026 we celebrate twenty years of teaching bra fitting. As we celebrate twenty years of the Bra Fitting Course, we remain committed to supporting the lingerie industry through education and collaboration, with plans firmly in place to train and inspire the next generation of bra fitters for another 20 years and beyond.
About Lindsey Brown
Bra Fitting Course founder Lindsey Brown MA, BA (Hons) has over twenty years' experience in the retail side of the lingerie market, having started her career working in the lingerie concessions of UK department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges as manager, merchandiser and buyer. Working as a distributor and sales agency for lingerie, swimwear and hosiery brands, Lindsey successfully developed these brands' sales in the UK market. Lindsey is also the designer of the successful resort wear brand LindseyBrown.com.

The Early Years: Building Expertise
1985 | Lindsey graduated with a BA Hons 2.1 Degree, Textiles for Fashion.
1987 | Bra fitting role with Hanro working within their London concessions in Harrods, Fenwick and Selfridges.
1998 | Lindsey graduated with a 1st class Master's degree in design manufacture specialising in contour fashion and compression of the breast tissue.
1999 | Consultancy advice for Kevlar female police vests.
2000 | Created a lingerie and swimwear sales agency.
2001 | Won Leicestershire Entrepreneur of the Year award.
2002 | Lingerie consultancy work for tennis ace Annabel Croft.
2004 | Expanded the sales agency selling Valery and Girardi in the UK.
2005 | Awarded the UK agency for BluGirl by BluMarine brands.
2006 | The Bra Fitting Course is Born. Launch of the Bra Fitting Course after requests from retailers for reliable and commercial bra fitting advice.
2007 | Presented bra fitting talks at the Harrogate new buyers seminar lingerie show.
2008 | First attendees from outside Europe attend the bra fitting course from Florida, New York and Cape Town.
2009 | Presented 'How the Understanding of the breast anatomy can help sell more Bras' at the Harrogate lingerie and swimwear show.
2010 | Breast nurses, doctors and plastic surgeons attended the Bra Fitting Course to learn how to correctly assess bra sizes and advise patients about correctly fitting bras.
2011 | Lindsey is a guest on National Polish television, demonstrating how to correctly fit bras and presents the benefits of wearing a good fitting bra.
2012 | Lindsey trained the Net-a-Porter London team on how to correctly asses bra size to help provide better online customer service.
2013 | Numbers of attendees increased from Nigeria, Botswana, Australia and Canada.
2014 | Retailers in Barbados and the USA requested local bra fitting training and dates for the first overseas bra fitting courses.
2015 | Lindsey launched her own brand of resort wear called LindseyBrown.com
2016 | Lindsey presented trained the new team for Rigby & Peller new flagship store in Dubai.
2016 | Ten Year Milestone Celebrating a Decade of Excellence
The world-renowned Bra Fitting Course celebrated 10 years of bra fitting training in October 2016. Students from A-Z countries had attended the course in the UK, marking a significant milestone in international bra fitting education.

International Expansion
2017 | The bra course is reaching out to international boutiques with ladies from Ukraine attended our bra fitting course in the UK.
2018 | The first two-day intensive bra fitting course for Russian attendees held in the UK with a Russian interpreter.
2019 | Ladies from Italy attended two days of bra fitting training with an Italian interpreter translating on a bespoke bra fitting course.
2020 | Ladies from Poland, Wales and Russia attend the first courses of 2020.
Resilience and Growth
2021 | The global pandemic meant that we could not run any training courses.
2022 | Back to business, we started one-to-one training courses.
2023 | Ladies travelling from Scotland setting up a new mobile bra fitting service.
2024 | We launched new medical sector bra fitting courses for physios and healthcare professionals.
2025 | Lindsey has spent the year developing a new design of sports bra.
2026 Twenty Years of Excellence
The Bra Fitting Course celebrates twenty years of bra fitting training courses. From our humble beginnings in 2006 to training ladies from over 28 countries worldwide, we continue to teach professional bra fitting without the use of a tape measure.
