WHO WE ARE | THE HISTORY BEHIND THE BRA FITTING COURSE
The Bra Fitting Course was established in 2006 in response to lingerie retailer demand for a reliable and commercial insight into correct Bra Fitting Training. Since launching in 2006, word spread within the lingerie industry and the Bra Fitting Training and Lingerie retail courses have been regularly attended ever since. Bra Fitting Course - Lindsey Brown Ma, Ba (Hons) has over 20 years experience in the retail side of the lingerie market, having started her career working in the lingerie concessions of UK department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges as Manager, Merchandiser and Buyer for Hanro. Working as a distributor and sales agency for lingerie, swimwear and hosiery brands, Lindsey successfully developed these brands' sales in the UK market. Lindsey is also the designer of the succesful resort wear brand LindseyBrown.com
1985 | Lindsey graduated with a BA Hons 2.1 Degree, Textiles for Fashion
1987 | Bra Fitting Role with Hanro working within their London concessions in Harrods, Fenwick and Selfridges
1998 | Lindsey graduated with a 1st class Master's Degree in Design Manufacture specialising in Contour Fashion and Compression of the Breast Tissue
1999 | Consultancy Advice for Kevlar Female Police Vests
2000 | Set up Mya Blue UK Ltd working as a distributor and sales agency, successfully developing lingerie, swimwear and hosiery brands in the UK
2001 | Won Leicestershire Entrepreneur of the Year award
2002 | Lingerie Consultancy work for Tennis Ace Annabel Croft
2004 | Became a family business with Vanessa Brown joining as Commercial Director
2006 | Launch of the Bra Fitting Course after requests from retailers for reliable and commercial Bra Fitting Advice
2007 | Presented Bra Fitting talks at the Harrogate New Buyers Seminar Lingerie & Swimwear Show Feb 07
2008 | First attendees from outside Europe attend the Bra Fitting Course from Florida, New York and Cape Town
2009 | Presented 'How the Understanding of the Breast Anatomy can help sell more Bras' at the Harrogate Lingerie and Swimwear Show Aug 09
2010 | Breast Nurses, Doctors and Plastic Surgeons attended the Bra Fitting Course to learn how to correctly assess bra sizes and advise patients about correctly fitting bras
2011 | Lindsey is a guest on Polish television demonstrating how to correctly fit bras and presents the benefits of wearing a good fitting bra
2012 | Lindsey asked to train staff at a multinational fashion retailer
2013 | Numbers of attendees increased significantly from Nigeria, Botswana, Australia and Canada
2014 | Retailers in Barbados and the USA requested local bra fitting training and dates for the first overseas Bra Fitting Courses
2015 | Responded to Overseas Companies wanting to licence the bra fitting
2016 | Lindsey presented a Bra Fitting Course in Dubai for a well renowned Lingerie Store
2016 | A-Z of Countries have attended the Bra Fitting Course in the UK and the world renowned Bra Fitting Course celebrated 10 Years of Bra Fitting Training this year in October December 2016 Lindsey Brown MD interviewed by BBC Radio talking about her fashion business and the science behind bra fitting techniques
2017 | The Bra Course is reaching out to international boutiques with ladies from Ukraine and Nigeria attending our bra fitting course in the UK
2018 | The first two day intensive Bra Fitting Course, for Russian attendees, held in the UK with a Russian Interpreter
2019 | Ladies from Italy attended two days of bra fitting training, with two days of an Italian interpreter translating on a bespoke bra fitting course.
2022 | Ladies from Poland, Wales and Russia attend the first courses of 2020
2023 | Bra Fitting Course moves to a fantastic new training location.
